5 Tips on how I Built my Confidence To Start a Business

It’s important for us to make a choice, do we wish to allow our confidence to continually holds us back from doing what we want to do, or are we going to take control and work through the needed steps to get to where we want to be?

Confidence can be a hindrance or a positive force, make the choice.

Below I have listed the main steps I took to build my confidence, which helped me start my coaching business.

Do not get me wrong, I am still learning, I am still planning new ideas, I am still building, but this is how I started in 2018, officially.

1.Decide. I decided what I wanted to do, I tried to run away from coaching for 10 years due to fear. I tried starting a food business (choppy Dogg) I started a hair business (hairsheis) that never took off. But I always ended up back to coaching and helping people. I always believed it was my calling, but I was fearful to make that final decision. Fear can limit our ability to even make a decision to begin in the first place. The key thing is to listen to your gut, your inner self, and pay attention to your calling. So. The key thing was that I made a decision to listen to what my gut was telling me and make a start.

You know exactly what you want, you're just distracted or fearful, you're drowning out the sounds of your true calling due to external pressures. Decide on what's holding you back and work on it.

2. Education. Educate your self in the area of choice. I took a diploma and completed an accreditation program. I reflected on past experiences and planned how I can use that knowledge to help others.  My past experience was my driving force in doing what I currently do today, I used my experience as my own personal education. I was my very own student.

3. Vision. I use visualisation often to picture how I want my business and life to look. This exercise is a great motivational tool. I set goals and visualise achieving them. I have a book called ‘The Secret’. Throughout my life I have always written down what I want and placed it into the book, I can honestly say I have received everything that was placed between those pages. However, for extra motivation, I created a vision board that is visible to me every day. This is a great way to wake up in the morning with a consistent reminder as to what your goal and plans are.

4. Take action. In order to become more confident, you must take action. The key is to put yourself into that fear. You will not know how it feels to overcome a fearful activity without building courage and taking action. This also enables you to build resilience and strength for more opportunities to come.

5. Count your wins. If you don't celebrate what you have done, how can you get excited to create more wins to celebrate in the future. I get excited to create more greatness to be happy about.

I hope these 5 steps were helpful.
